OS Compatibility – Introduction
It may come as a surprise, but many operating systems are highly specialised. They will only run on the primary group of devices they’re built for. And they may drop support for older groups of the same families of devices: old laptops and smartphones sold by the same vendor will at some point stop receiving updates with the latest OS functionality and most recent apps.
